Are additional units on energy efficiency and renewable energy required within NSW university Masters programs?

Lightbulb and windfarm imageThe NSW Department of Environment, Climate Change and Water (DECCW), in partnership with the NSW Department of Education and Training, manages an Energy Efficiency Training Program which aims to develop the skills, and grow the number, of energy efficient tradespeople and professionals to support improved energy efficiency practices, products and services in industry, government and the community.

To support this program, DECCW commissioned ARIES to conduct market research and a needs analysis to determine whether additional units on energy efficiency and renewable energy should be developed and incorporated within existing university Masters programs, in disciplines such as environmental management and sustainable development. ARIES extended the scope of the research to the following disciplines: engineering, built environment, law and business.

This project contributes to a greater understanding of both the challenges and opportunities to increase the uptake of energy efficiency and renewable energy teaching and learning at Masters level in NSW universities.
