University leaders sustainability forum
The University Leaders Sustainability Forum, which took place at Macquarie University, brought together champions from the university and government sectors who are implementing learning for sustainability initiatives in higher education. The Forum was hosted by the Australian Research Institute in Education for Sustainability (ARIES) and the Association of University Leaders for a Sustainable Future (ULSF) as a contribution to the UN Decade in Education for Sustainable Development which aims to promote dialogue and action across education.
Forum participants identified and assessed national best practice examples of sustainability in higher education and described initiatives which are taking place within their institutions. a report was produced to synthesise these initiatives and identify the priorities and opportunities determined by the participants for advancing the Education for Sustainability agenda within higher education in Australia.
