Jessica North
Program Director
Jessica has worked at ARIES for 12 years, including five years as Director of the institute. She is now spending more time writing, but remains Director of the Habitat Stepping Stones program.
With a strong background in business administration and communication, Jessica's previous roles include being Consultant Editor for the EarthWatch Institute's ClimateWatch website and Business Manager for the sustainability and carbon-management consultancy Kinesis.
Jessica's writing includes: four handbooks on industry-specific administration; two lifestyle books; articles for the Journal of the NSW Association for Environmental Education, the Journal of the Victorian Association for Environmental Education, Vogue Entertaining and Vogue Children; plus co-writing a chapter for the UN's book Tomorrow Today, which celebrates the United Nations' Decade of Education for Sustainable Development.
Jessica is co-founder and Director of the Senior Services Guide and her voluntary contributions include teaching English to adult migrants and providing administration services to the NSW Wildlife Information and Rescue Service (WIRES). She is also the author of Esther, a biography of Esther Abrahams, a First Fleet convict girl who became First Lady of NSW.
