Whole-school approaches to sustainability: A review of models for professional development in pre-service teacher education

Recognising the vital role that teacher education plays in achieving changes in Australian schools, this report investigates ways in which Learning for Sustainability can be mainstreamed into teacher education. The goal of the research was to identify strategies that could lead to changes within pre-service teacher education. Programs for various parts of the world were reviewed. The report recommends a combination approach as a powerful means of advancing the sustainability agenda within teacher education.
